Good episode. I'm gettting tired of the affair between Gabrielle and Garden Boy. Hopefully it's over now and they'll give Gabrielle something new and nasty to do.

Looks like they're going to cover up the kid's hit and run...I wonder what they're going to do.

I am sick to death of Rex and his whining. At first I felt sorry for him but Bree has really been trying and all he's doing is acting like a spoiled baby. And then he pulls that extravagant gift thing, especially right after he sees his wife is so hurt because the kids don't seem to care if they live with her or not. Then he completely rejects his son and says the car was bought for him on the condition he live with his mother. What? Good parenting. I especially love the part where he says the kid can't live with him because he has to "figure things out." Well, maybe you should have thought of that before you HAD any kids, asswipe. I'm really hating him. Hating!

Maggie at November 22, 2004 08:23 AM

Yeah, Rex is really quite an ass. I don't even know why Bree would want him back at this point, but it looks like they'll be sticking together as a family for a while.

freakgirl at November 22, 2004 08:28 AM

Much like Alias/I am obsessed with this show/love the story lines.

Sorry that my my first ever haiku attempt.

Lauren at November 22, 2004 08:40 AM

i'm still loving this show.
and i'm so not tired of Gabrielle and Miguel. i hope he doesn't go away!!!

love love love the Lynette storyline with the drugs. anyone know what the effect of ritalin would actually do to someone without add?

and they've finally done something to make Susan look less stringy-haired. although, that green sweater was too small - - - the buttons were pulling. I find her desper-osity to be rather cute.

Ali at November 22, 2004 10:29 AM

Last night was my favorite ep so far. Marcia Cross is just amazing to watch. Her performance last night blew me away, esp. the dinner table scene. I really didn't expect to get into her character so much.

I still love Teri Hatcher's Susan. She and Mike are so cute.

Gabrielle - I know she won't get killed off next ep, but I really wouldn't mind if she did. Her storyline is tired. I'm afraid Lynette is moving in the same direction. the baby carriage last night was noted. Felicity Huffman is still one of my favorites on the show, but the ritalin arc - eh.

elizabeth at November 22, 2004 10:44 AM

Ali, Ritalin is actually a stimulant, so it would give Lynette the effect of uppers, I suppose.

When she took them in the last episode, my sister referred to Ritalin as "poor man's crack."

freakgirl at November 22, 2004 11:08 AM

does it bother anyone else that they keep calling it, "ADD medication" instead of ritalin???

Ali at November 22, 2004 11:41 AM

It doesn't bug me. Ritalin is a brand-name as far as I know, and I can't imagine the show would get legal clearance to use it by name when a character is totally abusing it. :)

freakgirl at November 22, 2004 11:48 AM

Even with the return of Lynette's missing kids, this show is just not doing it for me. And I'm still trying to figure out why. I find myself rolling my eyes so much when I watch it that by the end of the hour, I'm dizzy. That bit at the rodeo bar was cringe-inducingly predictable and the hit-and-run was also no surprise. I don't get the feeling that the show has any solid base-story, and that the writers are just throwing things in as they see fit, and not because it helps to form a nice, solid storyline. I know it's just a silly soap, but I really thought they would try for more than that.

Rain at November 22, 2004 12:23 PM

I'm all for the gardener boy being half-naked on every episode but it's absolutely true that that storyline had gotten tiiiiiired. I still like Eva Longoria, I think she's hilarious and does some great physical comedy.

As for next week's big "death" -- based on last night's events, it seems like it has to be Edie who dies. But that would be too obvious, especially for a show like this that trades on misinformation. Maybe Edie hired the PI before Mary Alice's husband did... there has to be another layer to that onion...

I've had to stop reading Kristin's column on E! Online because I'm terrified of reading spoilers for this show (well, and Lost, too).

brian w at November 22, 2004 12:27 PM

Well then Rain, stop watching. ;-)

I was stunned by the hit and run. I just figured the kid would get himself into an accident, not mow down Gabrielle's mother, now placing Bree into the awkward place of "oh, hi ... my son nearly killed your Mom Gaby..."

And Edie? She's gotta be the one who bites it next week.

Keith at November 22, 2004 12:29 PM

Re: next week - who counts as a Housewife on this show? I thought maybe Mama will be the one to die. I could see it being Edie, since her picture isn't in the group main credits, but it seems too obvious. Mrs. Huber, perhaps?

I don't think Bree will be telling Gabriella about her son being responsible for the accident anytime soon. As of last night, anyway, Bree and Gabriella were fighting over the modeling in NYC thing.

freakgirl at November 22, 2004 12:34 PM

I figured it would be Edie to die, too, but maybe that is too obvious. No one said that the show wasn't going to be obvious, though. It is pretty over-the-top so the obvious works. It's a matter of how they do it. I don't think they should get rid of Edie, though - she is a good foil for Susan and also, I think it's important to have a tramp in the neighborhood. She should be hitting on all the husbands, too, not just the single guys. Although I have to say that it wouldn't bother me too much if I didn't have to see Nicolette's plastic-surgeried face anymore. It's very distracting to me.

Cheri at November 22, 2004 01:00 PM

I thought I read somewhere that [removed] Don't ask me where I read that, cuz I can't remember. It could just be wishful thinking. =)

Please don't post spoilers here, unless you know where it came from. Then, just link to the article, so people who don't want to know don't have to find out.

freakgirl at November 22, 2004 02:08 PM

If there were something else I liked on at 9 that I couldn't see at any other time (like L&O;: CI, which I can catch on USA) then I WOULD stop watching. I find it good enough TV watching, but I don't find it nearly as good or as engrossing as "Lost," for example. Maybe they should throw in an invisible monster to liven things up.

Rain at November 22, 2004 02:33 PM

Your spoiler tags aren't working, fyi.

As for poor man's, we've had some experience in that area back in our raving days. It's like speed. In small doses all it does is induce concentration. In larger abuse-type doses, it makes you go go go and even things like cleaning are fun and absorbing. And you're a real conversation machine. I used to have a punning issue during my uh, experimentation. Non-stop puns. It's a wonder no one punched me in my face. ;)

Maggie at November 22, 2004 02:38 PM

Oh, and in the Ritalin article linked, it states that: This medicine does not cause illegal drug use or addiction.

I beg to differ. I agree that it probably isn't an issue to a young child whose dose is monitored carefully, but in an abusive situation it can be quite addictive.

Maggie at November 22, 2004 02:43 PM

The spoiler tags in elizabeth's posts aren't working?

Sigh. I'll remove.

freakgirl at November 22, 2004 02:46 PM

I love this show. It's entirely predictable in many ways which bugs me on many shows, but on this one, the journey to get there is so entertaining.

My unspoiled money's on Edie - or Mrs. Huber mistaken for Edie in the dark - getting whacked. Then again, it could be Mama Solis.

Janet at November 22, 2004 03:41 PM

elizabeth at November 22, 2004 04:07 PM

no problem, elizabeth. :) just wanted to make sure that no one's fun gets ruined. Keep on posting; just do a separate link if you think something might be spoiler-y.

freakgirl at November 22, 2004 05:15 PM

I'm guessing that the PI is going to try to take out Edie but get someone else by accident - maybe Mrs. Huber? I can't believe it would be any of the main four woman.

Cristiane at November 22, 2004 07:18 PM

I agree with Cheri... Edie's too much fun to kill her off so soon. I'd be disappointed if anyone BUT Mama Solis were killed.

I had get whole-body chills during the Alias commercial. Yum!

tim at November 22, 2004 08:26 PM

How does one confuse Mama Solis or Mrs. Huber for Edie? I mean, these women look quite different.

Maggie at November 23, 2004 11:10 AM

Maggie tells the truth.

freakgirl at November 23, 2004 11:15 AM

Not necessarily confused - but maybe Mrs. H. steps in front of Edie at the crucial moment...

Cristiane at November 23, 2004 06:36 PM

Yeah, isnt Edie still living with Mrs. H?
