I can't believe Susan didn't read that stupid letter! She is just annoying to me now.

Jennifer at April 4, 2005 08:26 AM

She lost me last week when she was screaming at Mike about "not being honest" with her...HELLO, remember when he knocked on her door and said, "I want to tell you everything" and she said, "You don't have to" and then they totally did it? Yeah, so shut up, Susan.

I felt so bad for Bree when her son spit at her last night.

freakgirl at April 4, 2005 08:28 AM

Dammit, my cable was out last night and I missed everything. Anyone know where I can download last night's "Arrested Development" and "Desperate Housewives"? (I've never done Bittorrent before, but I'm sure if someone can supply a link I could figure it out...)

Joe, check out these sites:

Susan and Mike's storyline reeks of streeeetch so they can make the big revelations toward the end of the season.

I was sorry Mama Solis was killed off - I thought that storyline could have gone farther.

I am waiting for the ep when they give Lynette a storyline that I don't think sucks. Surprise me!

I was annoyed that Gabby took the money and it never occured to her that since they are offering me this nice settlement I bet I could sue them for 10 times this much. I mean seriously. If a hospital out of the goodnes of their hearts wants to give you 1.6 million the first thing I would do is hire an attorney and start the investigation.

betsy at April 4, 2005 10:26 AM

I figured she didn't want Carlos to find out anything about it...also she probably doesn't want to take the risk that Mama did tell someone about her infidelity.

That said, why is she hiding the money from Carlos? That's the part I'm not getting. Also, the geekboy predicted that Mama would leave behind a huge life insurance bonus for Carlos, but that didn't seem to happen, either.

freakgirl at April 4, 2005 10:29 AM

I was close, though, with the settlement ... both are unexpected windfalls. I just thought it was time to wrap up that stupid "Gabby and Carlos" are broke storyline. I'm with Freakgirl, though -- why would she bother to keep the windfall from him? I'm sure he'd be happy to do 2 months in jail for the sake of $1.6M. Does she think he's not going to notice that she's living large when he gets out?

GeekBoy at April 4, 2005 11:47 AM

I think (she thought) that Carlos might want to use the money to pay for his defense. Remember he was all set to fight this and sell the house. If he is now given 1mm plus, He might decide to stick around and fight instead of deal.

Plus, Gabby is a shrew. Its not like she constantly puts her husband or family first. Whatever works better for her.

I bet now that she has her 'own' money, the new story line is her trying to leave carlos. It seems that she only stayed with him for the money and now that she has it, he isn't necessary.

Todd at April 4, 2005 12:08 PM

shouldnt Gabby be pregnant by now?

megan. at April 4, 2005 12:09 PM

It's funny, because this was the first episode in a long, loooong time that I actually liked. I liked it from the moment mama woke-up, fell down the stairs and died. That was the kind of dark humor I've been expecting from this show and not getting...

Rain at April 4, 2005 12:15 PM

I think I'm still mad that D.H. left us hanging for a frickin' month before we got a new episode. I was especially underwhelmed watching last week's episode. Boring. This week's was a little less boring, but it's a close race. And why is it that every time there's a deaf woman on a TV show the role is played by Marlee Matlin? Are there no other deaf actresses out there?

Lara K-W at April 4, 2005 12:23 PM

Todd - But what Gabby established on the phone with the lawyer at the end is that Carlos HAD to plead guilty and go to jail for 2 months in order to close the matter. Otherwise, any money they acquire would go directly to the government, and would therefore be unavailable to use for legal fees.

GeekBoy at April 4, 2005 12:32 PM

Geek-
That is true. I guess I just don't like Gabby and I am trying to pin one more thing on her.

Todd at April 4, 2005 02:36 PM

Well to me, the fact that she has no apparent reason for lying to Carlos about the windfall, but does anyway, counts as another thing to pin on her. :)

GeekBoy at April 4, 2005 02:42 PM

I'm a bit late to the party but I hated this episode, too. But I LOVED last week's. I was so over the show during its time off the air that I almost didn't go back to it last week but I did just because I was sick in bed and I loved it all over again. Honestly, I think what I liked so much last week was Edie. She's the only housewife I really like anymore!

I also totally agree with Janet that they are stretching out the Mike-Susan storyline. Maybe we should see Mike take Edie out - how quick would Susan run back into his arms then? (Yes, more Edie.)

Oh, one thing I did like this week was Rex sticking up for Bree. I'm glad to see Andrew gone - what a brat - and I like how not one person in their household mentioned that Andrew committed murder, now that Mrs. Solis died. They didn't even mention it to Andrew at all.

I totally expected Gabby to try to sue for more money or at least turn it down once expecting them to offer her even more money. At first, I was like, "Why the heck is Gabrielle dealing with all this hospital stuff?" and then I remembered Carlos' ankle bracelet. Lucky for her, eh?
