Nope, you're right on. We cancelled our Season Pass last week.

Yeah, we hate it too. It's so disappointing, since you would expect a lot better from the creators of "Family Guy". I've tried to watch it a couple of times and it just turns to suck.

I don't hate it (yet) - but I'd like to see it cancelled, so it doesn't steal any good jokes that would otherwise be on Family Guy.

kyle at May 17, 2005 12:13 PM

It mirrors Family Guy way too much, except that the supporting creatures (the alien and fish) are nowhere near as funny as Brian and Stewie. I think the only time I laughed out loud in either of the episodes I saw was when they horribly mistranslated the Japanese exchange student.

All in all, the ultraconservative humor hits way too close to the truth to be funny.

It strikes me that they made this series when Family Guy was still cancelled/in limbo. The mirroring of the characters, which is almost one-for-one, was a way to thumb their noses at Fox. And then Family Guy got brought back to live. Whoops. American Dad needs to change radically (pardon the pun) or get off the stage.

On this one, you and I agree. American Dad is not funny. I deleted it's Season Pass after Sunday's ep.

Has anyone else noticed that the son on American Dad has the same voice as Chris on Family Guy? I heard it from afar the other night and I seriously thought I was missing Family Guy (love that show!) It was weird...

Tobie at May 17, 2005 03:41 PM

Do we usually not agree, Julie?

J.Go at May 17, 2005 04:29 PM

We disagree about Alias and 24, but that's okay, it leaves more Spy Daddy for me.
