I just remembered that Spike's baby father had some kind of accident and ended up brain damaged.

God, I used to love that show. We had to watch it for school sometimes.

He was brain damaged and angry. I remember him screaming at school about something and everyone was afraid of him. The poor bastard.

I never saw the original shows on TV -- ironically enough, this was because I was usually out doing all the things that your typical episode of DJH suggests, in its own cheesy little Afterschool Special sort of way, that children ought not be doing -- but I had a very surreal experience with them on DVD recently. One of the episodes was about rumors, specifically the rumor that one of the teachers was a lesbian. I fell asleep right after it started, and then woke up some indeterminate amount of time later, blurry and confused, to the sound of 25 Canadian children chanting at me, "Gay! Gay! Lesbian! Lesbian!"

It makes a funny story now but I was pretty freaked out until I got my bearings again.

Jen, that's hilarious!

Poor Miss Avery! Did you know that actress is a pilot?

Maggie at October 6, 2005 04:57 PM

Maggie, I am laughing my ass off that you not only know which teacher I'm talking about, but can also entertain me with trivia about the actress. You RULE.

Miss Avery!!

She was stern, but she was good.
