Hey man, you'll never guess, man, what I find to be really annoying, man, about Judd, man. Is anyone else bothered by this, man?

Just in time for Halloween, Gary looked super-skeletal last night indeed--has he looked that ghoulish on previous episodes? And maybe it's because I'm from Alabama, but I wanted the Bobby Jon/Jamie squawking to keep going! At least Bobby Jon used the phrase "buck up" (get ready to fight)--one of my favorites.

Was there a strategy behind the surgical removal of Brian? I may just not have been watching closely enough and missed it, but it came as a bit of a surprise. (Man.)

This show is still on the fence for me (I watched last night's episode while taping a giant raserized picture of Christopher Walken to my wall for our Halloween party), but I have to say Jeff's comment at the end was the greatest thing he's ever said.

"You built him up right before you slit his throat." Can I get that on a shirt?

That Bobby-Jon, he sure put him in his place. Nothing is sexier to me than 2 guys going at it like complete nutbars.

The word scramble puzzles are always funny to me, because they always pick such obvious words. I was going to put money that the answer would be "Tribal Council"

I love that he was screaming "That's not nice!" It just sounded like he was barking. So great.

Why didn't Margaret even TRY to save herself? I hate when people go on Survivor and then don't play. Judd was like a crazy person last night. Jeff is a great host - both for letting Judd go on and on like that and for that nasty, nasty comment Joey Jo-Jo mentioned above.

Gary's jaw does indeed frighten me, too, Maggie. As does most of Danni. Her legs are like little sticks! So scary. I'm surprised she is as strong as she is...she must be all lean muscle.

I'm glad to see Margaret gone, she was annoying. And I thought it was hilarious the way Bobby Jon thought he put Jamie in his place, and then they cut to Jamie explaining that Bobby Jon had reached a whole new level of nutcase. Heeee!

He really was screaming "that's not nice"? Seriously?

so bizarre

Soosan at October 21, 2005 10:25 AM

That's what "buck up" means, Max? Cool. Around here we use it to mean "stiff upper lip" or "pull yourself together" or "deal with it" sort of thing. I guess it's directly from your "get ready to fight" and I'm assuming it's taken from the fact that when a buck is ready to fight he rears up on his hind legs. Very cool. I never thought about it before.

Yeah, Bobby Jon was actually yelling, "That's not nice!" We rewound, laughed, rewound, laughed, ad nauseum. Bobby Jon is such an interesting person. He has this sense of dignity and apropriateness, yet he's very aggressive and when he's competing he looks like a wild animal. But even when he's being aggressive towards a person, he's politely letting them know that what they did wasn't nice. So don't tell anyone he's an ass man. That wouldn't be nice.

Could you make out what Jamie was yelling back?

Random barking?

Soosan at October 21, 2005 02:24 PM

Hilarious recap, Maggie, starting right from the title. I kinda fisheye this show while I'm doing other things. Was Margaret really that annoying? I never really noticed anything.

Michael at October 21, 2005 04:16 PM

Yeah, just yelling. I think Jamie reacted the way he did because he was caught up in the moment of the challenge. I think that if Jamie was just standing there and Bobby Jon came up to him squawking like that for no reason, Jamie would have probably responded with, "What the hell are you doing, man?"

Maggie at October 21, 2005 04:17 PM

Michael, I didn't find her annoying as far as her personality goes, but I did find it irritating that she basically declared game over once Judd flipped loyalties to Steph and Jamie. Instead of campaigning to save herself she decided to be pissed off and indignant about Judd. She can say whatever she wants about him but the bottom line is that he and Cindy are still there.
