Sadly FG, the Weavers actually did get the #1 spot, followed closely by the Linzes. Of course they stood there and said "don't tell anybody!!". My disgust for that team is enormous. I was enraged with their comments towards the Sisters at the race track. I thought it was nice of them to show the team some compassion, but instead the Weavers were completely disrespectful. At the end when the girls were complaining to Phil about how all the other teams are against them I was thinking "Get a clue!!"

Was everyone else uncomfortable when the weavers ganged up on the Paolo boy in the airport? Awkward!! I wonder if that is how they try to convert people as well... just surround them. Again... get a clue Weavers... there are reasons the other teams dislike you.

Who do I want to win now? Anyone but the Weavers obviously!! They made the final 4... that's crap.

Cranky FreakGirl is in the house.

I thought the behavior of the Weaver girl at the end was just deplorable. They hate us because we're running a Christian race??? Do you think Jesus made fun of garbage men?

It would be awfully weird to have my first trip to the Grand Canyon last 60 seconds. Loved that pretty much every team -- except Florida -- wanted to linger for at least a minute.

yahtzee at November 9, 2005 10:25 AM

Hmm, I totally missed that the Weavers got the #1 spot. My bad.

The whole Grand Canyon thing reminded me of National Lampoon's Vacation when the Griswalds were off schedule and Clark only let them spend five seconds looking at the view.

freakgirl at November 9, 2005 10:27 AM

My memories of the Grand Canyon include the fattest squirrels I've seen in North America. I'm talking obese squirrels people. Lots of hand-outs from the visitors... leads to weight problems in squirrels.

The Weavers were THROWING THINGS AT OTHER TEAM'S CARS. Argggh. HAAAAAATE. Their hypocricy makes my brain bleed. Why do they hate the Sisters so much? They have been nothing but kind to them, and then to say "I hate them, they're such LIARS!" at the go-kart track? WTF? Oh, and let's thrown in some more garbage man bashing for good measure.

Also, have either of those Weaver girls been seen in a normal pair of pants or shorts? Something maybe with a proper waistband, pockets, or a zip fly? Anything other than those super-short cotton things that look like sleepwear? PUT SOME CLOTHES ON, BITCHES.

Jane at November 9, 2005 10:54 AM

Woah, Jane... easy there. Don't let the Weavers win.. it's what they want... :)

Soosan at November 9, 2005 11:09 AM

The crankiness is contagious!

yahtzee at November 9, 2005 11:24 AM

Freakgirl, thanks ever so much for giving us another gander at the Paulo's underpants.

What a bizarre family dynamic. That woman is under constant assault by her kid with his demeaning words and by her husband with his disturbing silence. And yet, they love each other!

Do you think the Weaver girls are aware enough to get some kind of epiphany from watching this show? Yeah, me either.

Go Linz kids! I think they'll win. They are strong AND they can navigate (well, on land). Hard to beat that.

I still wanna know the backstory on that houseboat kid. Phil was all mother hen over him, I thought.

Michael at November 9, 2005 12:04 PM

The problem with the little boats? I think I saw the Linz problem when I watched Wally. He had the handheld portion angled down towards the boat - hence the propellar section was at a weird angle & working at less than optimal performance. The Pink Sister had her handheld portion level so that her prop was in the water correctly - hence the zoom-zoom-zoom past the Linz kids. And the Weavers? How can these Christian people use the word "hate" so much? That's a word I don't let my kids use.

Grace at November 9, 2005 12:14 PM

This wasn't really an issue this particular episode as all teams were pretty happy with the detours they chose, but I think it would add a pretty good dynamic if they had to stick with the choice they made. Then again maybe not... I don't work for the show, what do I care! :)

Soosan at November 9, 2005 12:52 PM

Most interesting about the episode was the constant deepsixing of the Weavers by the editors of the show only to have it end with Phil giving them a pat on the back and a pep talk. It seemed so incongruous.

The Linzes and the Bransons are very cool. I think I like half the Godlewski team but that one high strung sister is a little too much.

Even Arnold the taxi driver hates the Weavers.

They are nuts.

Jason at November 9, 2005 04:48 PM

BWA! "I got your ass fired." Aw, FG. One of the many reasons you're my favorite.

Oman, when the Paolos put on underwear and then had to start running with their clothes all half-assed [har!] screwy. I loved them.

I can't handle that the Linzes still haven't won a leg, yet. WEAK. At least it seems that when they do they can definitely count on a reward versus past seasons where only b-holes [Rob & Amber] won prizes. (I know, R&A; winners. Pre-determined, blahblahblah.)

The family and I got totally geeked out when they showed Uchenna and Joyce's victory. I forgot how sweet they were.. making sure to pay the cab driver before they ran to the mat. THAT is living a Christian lifestyle, you Weaver twits.

I kind of h8 them a little bit with everything I am. I hope they're watching this now TOTALLY ashamed of themselves.

sar at November 9, 2005 05:54 PM

btw -- the Godlewskis definitely won both legs last night.

sar at November 9, 2005 05:57 PM

Good recollection, Jason. How unamused was that taxi driver?

yahtzee at November 9, 2005 06:14 PM

Arnold: "Please Lord, get these people out of my cab."

GeekBoy at November 10, 2005 12:47 PM

I feel bad that Rolly has to be part of that awful family. However, as far as Linda is concerned, I don't think she's as bad as Rachel and Rebecca in terms of how she acts. Just that she doesn't do anything to stop their behavior.

You know, it's funny how all of you want the Linzes to win when frankly, I can't stand them. I mean, look at them! Everyone on their team except Megan possesses the one quality I hate in a person: cockiness. That's one of the things that causes reality TV stars to lose. Look at Colin and Christie. They thought they were better than everyone else and that Chip and Kim and Brandon and Nicole didn't have a chance against them. And look! They got too cocky and made one critical mistake that cost them! And Rob and Amber? They also got too cocky at crunch time. Didn't even think that the restaurant they needed to find would have its name in Spanish (although who would, really?). I won't blow a fuse if the Linzes win, because in terms of skill, they would deserve it. However, I still don't want them to.

Godlewskis and Bransens rule!
