What she said.

1st a fast forward and non elim leg, and now a yield and non elim leg?

Why won't the weavers just get eliminated... why!!! (This is in my real dramatic voice boys and girls, I'm also pumping both fists into the air with a vengeance)

I liked how they showed the clip of the Linz family admiring the waterfall, and then a quick change to the Weavers stating for the billionth time how ugly Utah is. What do they want.. a country that is homogeneous? The whole beauty of our earth is in all the differences... it just irks my chain that people exist like that.

But I digress...

does anyone else think it's funny anytime they use sub-titles? I mean they *are* speaking english right?

Soosan at November 23, 2005 09:31 AM

I really don't get the point of having a non-elimination during the same leg as a Yield. It's utterly ridiculous.

I can hardly talk about this show anymore. What a truly disappointing episdoe, not even counting any Weaver-ness. Just more of: Drive -> read clue -> drive -> read clue -> drive -> ride in chopper -> read clue -> Drive -> admire Bart (Good BOOOOOYYYY!!)-> read clue. These contestants never have to DO ANYTHING. Meh.

And the Weavers - I just... can't.

Jane at November 23, 2005 11:08 AM

small note to add. When that linz boy removed his shirt.. hello abs!!

Soosan at November 23, 2005 11:18 AM

Soosan, word!

Jane at November 23, 2005 11:42 AM

I could not stop screaming last night every time those fucking Weavers asked the camera, "How come no one likes us? We are so confused about that!" In particular, what got my goat was when the Weaver mother said that they "don't believe in being treated rudely." Awesome, telling statement.

Do they not remember outwardly ignoring and WALKING AWAY from teams who approached them and spoke to them earlier in the race? Do they not remember saying they don't like anyone and they don't want to associate with such people? Do they not remember saying that they didn't come to make friends and if the other teams want to talk to each other and socialize, then they are STUPID and the Weavers are not going to make that mistake? They alienated EVERYONE. I hate them so very much.

I also hate their negativity. I was incensed, too, at their reaction to Utah. I also shouted about how they come from Florida. I guess they are unaware of their state's geographical and topical make-up. Perhaps if they think the people of the overcrowded world should live in Utah's protected national parks, perhaps they'd like to move into a floating hut in the Everglades and ride a gator to school.

At one point Rolly leaned out the window of their van and yelled out to a couple of cyclists (yes, cyclists. Not bikers, you stupid Weavers), "You WISH you were Lance Armstrong!" And his mother thought that was charming.

I want the Linzes or Bransens to win. I wish Phil was rude to the Weavers.

Maggie at November 23, 2005 12:48 PM

"perhaps they'd like to move into a floating hut in the Everglades and ride a gator to school"

Maggie!! Where do you come up with this? I love it!

Soosan at November 23, 2005 12:56 PM

two weeks in one season of Phil pep-talking the Weavers? How cruel can they be.

Absolutely nothing happened in this episode but I wonder if they made it a non-elimination leg because of the production error that screwed the godlewski sisters?

Yield's on non-elim legs make no competitive or strategic sense but I can understand why you would do it from a reality tv standpoint. If the yielded team gets eliminated, you've lost the drama like we saw in the previews for next week.

Ahhh well. The Biggest Loser has been much more satisfying this season than TAR.

Jason at November 23, 2005 04:00 PM

The Weaver family such a weird definition of being "Christians". They speak so negatively about anything and anyone. And they are SO confrontational! Did you check the scenes from next weeks' episode? Boy oh boy!

Again the Linz kids and the Bransen family...have to love that they are having fun on this race. Of course, the sisters! Oy! I want one of the happy teams (any of these three) to win this race.

Grace at November 23, 2005 06:32 PM

oye...I wish the Weavers would GO AWAY. Why wouldn't Phil let them quit? I mean the Pizza brothers got to quit! If they are that intent on quitting they should be given that option!
When they kept going on and on about "oh nobody likes us boohoo we wonder why" Gee...attitude for one? Staying inside your trailer for another? The previews for next week really shows their true colors..."YOU'LL BE SORRRRRY for yielding us!!!!" The Linzes are more Christian than they are! The Weavers are what I like to call PseudoChristians. The true ones are ones who practice it quietly, don't shove it in your face every five minute...pray at EVERY little thing and are not rude (well most...). Brandon and Nicole are looking like LAMBS next to this family!

::sigh:: Please be eliminated next week. The whole season has been one massive disappointment with families deserving to be there not there...they'd gladly take the Weavers' spot.

FuzzDuckie at November 23, 2005 07:40 PM

Seriously.

First words out of my mouth: WHAT IS THE GODDAMN POINT OF HAVING A YIELD ON A NON-ELIMINATION LEG!
Second: Sister, God really does hate us, doesn't he? She replied, "Of course he does." Apparently that is the ONLY explanation for douches like that family even existing, let alone existing on television for more than 3 seconds.

And as an aside, THANK YOU, Jason! TBL2 has been my savior as far as reality TV goes this year. I'm so glad Andrea finally got eliminated... she was literally going to make me go bananas.

The Godlewskis are growing on me. I don't love them like I love the Linz [boys] or the Bransens, but I kind of don't hate them as much as I did at first.

sar at November 23, 2005 10:42 PM

Boy, I've heard of Ugly Americans before. But being Ugly Americans in your own country? DAMN! I was really trying to stay behind the Weavers throughout all this, and even took their defense when one of the Linz boys said a house should fall on Linda. (I actually thought that was out of line. Basically wishing the kids would lose their mom as well as their dad? Not cool.) But I'm done being 100% behind them after all those comments about Utah. Now, I'm only 50% behind them.

I think the Godlewskis will get a time credit because it was because of production that they got screwed over. Lenny and Karyn got it before, so why can't they?

Jamison at November 24, 2005 01:19 AM

I see your point, but I'm pretty sure that all Linz Boy #2 meant was that Linda is a witch. I don't think he was actually wishing her dead.

Maggie at November 24, 2005 02:01 AM

Hi again and thanks for the welcome!

I have to say that my take on this seasons TAR has been a bit on the down side. Given the limited travel. I thought it was because the teams where larger as familys and they would go to far off places once the numbers came down. Well they didnt go far and worse--they came back. (to the US)

Where is the head shaving, eat to you drop, and a walk through an India Temple for rats?
But--I love this show and Phil :), what can I say--if only I was 20 yrs younger.

Now--I have a question. I do not really understand why the teams hate the Weavers so much? They dont see what we see IE: statements made within their family.

So I am trying to figure out what they did? Are the producers not showing us? There have been some really nasty contestants on TAR but none of them have been 100% hated as the Weavers.

If it is attitude--then I guess I want the Bransons to win because the other two teams have their share.

Besides--your right about the Lenzes--they make really off the wall mistakes--like--not reading the clue!

Bubbi at November 24, 2005 08:36 AM

Well, the Weavers have done some really obnoxious stuff [throwing trash at other people, calling names, etc.] And I can't help but think that they've played the Constant Victims card a little too much with the rest of the teams, and that's part of the reason they're so hated. And they're kind of stand off-ish, it seems to me, which is clearly not something that is a great idea considering at some point you at least need a bridge to burn before you can burn it, y'know? Speculation.

sar at November 24, 2005 01:32 PM

Maggie, he was wishing Linda dead. Flat-out. Just another reason, other than their frat boy behavior, I want the Linzes to either show or place. Not win. If any family deserves to win, it's the Bransens or the Godlewskis since they have multiple victories on legs. Two legs won by the Bransens and three by the Godlewskis (two of them in a streak)? One of these two teams will most certainly win. They just have to. If the Linzes win, I'll be joining the ranks of those who say this season sucks.

Jamison at November 25, 2005 01:43 AM

Bubbi...my take on the Weavers is...they complain tha they try to approach other teams and they blow them off...yet in the previews for next week we see Linda storming up to the Linzes and getting in their face about the Yield. I'd never do that...I know that the Yield is PART OF THE GAME- and channel my energy into working my way out of that deficit not chasing down the team that yielded them and scream at them "you'll be SORRRRRYYYY!!!!" As it is they got a break anyway when it was a non elimination. I don't think I've ever seen a team Yielded, come in last and STILL be in the game. Most Yielded teams came in the middle somewhere...

FuzzDuckie at November 25, 2005 04:06 PM

Really? Remember Colin and Christie?

Jamison at November 29, 2005 11:15 PM

"Maggie, he was wishing Linda dead. Flat-out."

I absolutely don't agree. We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

Maggie at November 30, 2005 08:13 PM

i lovee the weavers and i think its retarted that everyone hates them. No where in the bible does it say you cant insult someone because of what they do for a livng....hello! dont be saying they have a different view on christianity then the rest of the world. the other teams were backtalking them also!! but no one acknowledges that. Plus they just suffered a huge loss over the death of thier father. I think america should look to them as an inspiration for being able to do race and put themselves outthere after such a huge loss. and since were talking about being rude lets not forget the linzs....."thunder thighs" was the comment made to the oldest weaver daughter if i recall..and to their brother alex "fattttty fat fat" were some obnoxious things being said. However its hard not be forgiving when the boys are so damn hot **Tommy especially** but as far as it goes for maggie i think she should go to hell that over confident cocky bitch:)
